Daniel Boone letter : 1786.

The collection consists of a single letter written to an unknown person by Daniel Boone on June 4, 1786. Boone declares that he is unwell and will be unable to attend the coming court session. Boone is involved in a lawsuit pending before the court. The person suing Boone is William Triplett. Boone states that Captain Davis will attend court for him and has all of the necessary paper work to procede. Davis surveyed the land involved in the suit, which Boone believes qualifies him to represent Boone's best interest. Boone then asks for a delay in another suit that is pending before the court unless Captain Hayes is there. That suit also involves a land claim and the other party is a Mr. McClanahan.
